This has been submitted for TESOL 2015. Feel free to borrow or edit. Below are two versions of letters for presenters to help get funding- Elizabeth

For those unfamiliar with the EV Fair format, here is information from the CALL-IS website:

The Technology Fairs are informal demonstrations where teachers or teacher-developers share their use of technology resources. (*Note: No projection equipment is available.)

Presenters demonstrate their technology applications in two consecutive 25-minute sessions on one computer station in a presentation format similar to a poster session. After 25 minutes, the session is repeated. Participants attend sessions of their choosing and drop in and out of demonstrations. Demonstrations are informal and preclude highly structured presentations.

Program book:

For five weeks in Jan-Feb, EVO sessions offer collaborative, online discussion or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions bring together participants for an extension of themes from the Convention. Sessions are free and open to anyone around the globe. EVO is a project of CALL-IS.

Abstract:

Annually in Jan-Feb, the Electronic Village Online, sponsored by CALL-IS, offers free teacher professional development for participants from around the world. Last year we had over 2,000 participants in 18 sessions, about half of them from outside the U.S. The sessions are available to both TESOL and non-TESOL members free of charge and are run totally by volunteers from CALL-IS and IATEFL. This Fair event will demonstrate examples of several EVO sessions from the 2015 offerings.

For five weeks in January-February, participants and ESOL experts can engage in collaborative, online discussion or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions will bring together participants for a longer period of time than is permitted by the land-based convention and will allow a fuller development of ideas than is otherwise possible.

Training for next year's moderators begins in October 2013.

The next sessions will begin in January 2014.
