A Summary of Moderator-Participant Roles 

 

The image below summarizes the potential roles of participants and contributors to an online community.

 

The moderator can assist participants in the EVO in attaining higher levels of participation and hence in feeling a part of the community. Participants who become commentators gain the most benefit from online learning and teaching.

 

The Online Connections course, source of the chart below, can in itself provide an excellent self-access training in the use of many of the most common electronic tools that students need in the 21st century.
