Making your own wiki on pbworks is as easy as 1-2-3

of course you have to create an account with pbworks first :-)

then

1. Choose the name of your space carefully

(remember that with a lot of tabs open, you will only see the first few letters of the name)

2. the next screen allows you to choose if you want your workspace to be public or private.

It's often a good idea to start off with a private space, so that you can mess around with it until you decide it's OK for others to see ! When it's private you can either a).invite people to see it, or b). you can paste the link somewhere, and if someone clicks on that link, you have to "approve their membership" (see below). Unlike a G+ Community you can freely change this setting later, i.e. you can choose to make it public and freely available at a later date - if you wish.

Make sure you invite your co-mods as editors (or administrators)

That's it! you're in! Just click on the edit tab at the top of your first page.

Then, to invite someone click on the tab "users"

And add the email of the person or people you wish to invite. (method a).
It is also via the "users" tab that you can see who has asked to join your wiki
(method b).

Now that was easier than 1-2-3 :-)

and remember (to facilitate navigation on the pbworks site):
